The Belkin Dual Qi2 charger is designed to be a travel friendly 2 in 1 charging solution. This charging pad features high speed Qi2 charging for both iPhone and Airpods along with a high speed Apple Watch charger. The pad can fold into different viewing angles and become more compact for travel. This product is sold exclusively through Apple.com or Apple retail stores.
Flat configuration allows for both watch and iPhone to be charged. The custom right angle cables allows different setups that is most comfortable for the user.
The viewing configuration allows for free movement for the optimal viewing angle for any situation. This set up supports standby mode as well as Apple watch charging.
The folded configuration allow for a compact size perfect for travel. Either a phone or a watch can also be charged in this configuration.
A large amount of time was dedicated into testing/researching the correct blend of fabric and hinge interaction that would withstand constant usage, break tests and still be cost effective.
Along with the electronics and regulations, some of the other major challenges revolved around the manufacturing and application of the fabric and moving parts.
